Dear Sir:

          I have received a copy of your "Anuario de la Fotografia
Espanola - 1958" for which I give you my sincere thanks for the
fine dedication signed by three photographers; and also for the
encouragement it has given me to know that Spain has such a deep
interest in modern photography, and that at least some of Spain's
photographers are making maningful contributions to the art of
photography.

          I am now preparing an exhibition to open early in Nov-
enber on the theme "Masterworks of Photography From Its Begin-
nings to The Present." I would like to include a few Spanish
prints from your book:

           After studying the prints I hope you will send us, we
will select several for the exhibition and include them in our
Permanent Collection at the Museum.  For these selected prints, 
I regret we can not pay any more than a nominal price of $10 a
print. We will return the prints that have not been accepted 
by the Acquisitions Committee to you.
